Moderation Policy
CleanStream is built for kids ages 4–17. Every video is reviewed by a human before it ever appears on the platform. Here's exactly what that means.
✅ What We Welcome
- Educational videos on any school subject
- Science experiments (non-dangerous)
- Creative arts: drawing, music, crafts, animation
- Gaming (Minecraft, Roblox, Fortnite — appropriate gameplay only)
- Sports, fitness, and physical activity
- Coding tutorials and tech projects
- Nature, animals, and environment
- Faith, values, and character-building content
- History, geography, and cultural content
- Humor and comedy (family-friendly)
- Cooking and food with adult supervision
- Book reviews and reading encouragement
❌ What Is Not Allowed
- Violence, fighting, or disturbing imagery
- Profanity or crude language of any kind
- Sexual content or innuendo
- Bullying, harassment, or mean-spirited content
- Drug, alcohol, or tobacco promotion
- Stunts that could encourage dangerous behavior
- Gambling or promotional gambling content
- Political propaganda or divisive messaging
- Privacy violations (showing other people's personal info)
- Advertising or brand promotion
- Content that demeans any group of people
- Anything that violates US federal law (CSAM, etc.)
🔍 Our Review Process
All videos go through the following steps before appearing on CleanStream:
- Step 1 — Parent Approval: The creator's parent or guardian must click Approve on the specific upload before it enters our queue. This is required for all users, not just children.
- Step 2 — Human Review: Our moderation team watches or scrubs through every submitted video. We check content, audio, captions, and thumbnail. No AI-only automated moderation for core content decisions.
- Step 3 — Age Classification: We verify that the creator's self-reported age rating is appropriate, or adjust it during review.
- Step 4 — Approval or Rejection: If approved, the video goes live within minutes. If rejected, the creator receives an email with a specific reason and guidance on how to resubmit.

⚠️ Consequences of Policy Violations
- First violation: Video removed, creator notified with explanation
- Repeat violations: Temporary upload suspension (7–30 days)
- Serious violations (safety threat, illegal content): Immediate permanent account ban, reported to appropriate authorities if legally required
If you believe a video on CleanStream violates our policy, use the report button on the video. We investigate all reports within 48 hours.
🤔 Gray Area? We Err on the Side of Kids.
When content falls in a gray area, our reviewers ask one question: "Would I be comfortable with my 6-year-old watching this alone?" If the answer is no, we either request edits or reject. We would rather lose good content than allow harmful content through.
